Pippi Longstocking's house, a limestone cave and beaches shallow enough for paddling toddlers.
Kneippbyn holiday park
Pippi's Villa Villekulla stands here alongside a water park and small rides, open through the summer season. Aimed squarely at three to ten.
Gotlands Museum
Carved picture stones, Viking silver hoards and a medieval hall, presented well enough to hold seven-year-olds for an hour or two.
Tofta beach
Twenty minutes south, a long sandy stretch with shallow water, a kiosk and lifeguards in high summer. Norderstrand is closer but stonier.
Lummelundagrottan caves
A guided limestone cave north of town, cool and dripping, open in the summer months. Helmets provided; nervous under-fives may not enjoy it.
Cobbles and gradients
Visby's old town is steep and stony โ a carrier beats a pushchair inside the wall. Outside it, the island is flat and made for bike trailers.
