The plan

Reine and Hamnøy
The two most photographed villages in Norway — go at golden hour, which lasts hours here.
Hike Reinebringen
1,566 stone steps to the view that sells Norway. Steep, worth it, dry days only.
Haukland & Kvalvika beaches
White sand, turquoise water, Arctic temperature — swim if you're brave.
Stay in a rorbu
Converted fishermen's cabins over the water; the whole point of Lofoten.
Drive the E10
The island-hopping road with bridges between peaks — the drive is the attraction.

Getting there

Fly into
Leknes (LKN) or Svolvær (SVJ) via Bodø/Oslo; or the ferry from Bodø to Moskenes (3–4 hours).
From the airport
Rent a car at the airstrip — this is not a bus destination.
Getting around
A car, absolutely. Summer traffic on the E10 is real; book cars months ahead.
