Five marble and limestone outcrops about 8 km south of the centre; Thủy Sơn is the one you climb, with pagodas and caves cut into it. Thủy Sơn entry is 40,000 VND, the lift 15,000 one way or 30,000 return, and Am Phủ cave a separate 20,000. Allow three to four hours and start around 7:30 before the stone heats up.

Hill station at around 1,500 m reached by cable car from the foot of the mountain, roughly an hour west of the city, with the Golden Bridge and a mock French village at the top. Tickets run into the hundreds of thousands of dong; take the first cars of the day, and accept that it is sometimes in cloud when Da Nang is clear.

The city museum, now at 31 Trần Phú a block from the river, open daily 08:00 to 17:00. The Fine Arts Museum at 78 Lê Duẩn is run by the same body; ring 0236 3886236 for current ticket prices, which changed in July 2025.

Forested headland about 20 minutes northeast of My Khe, with a white Quan Am statue visible from the city beaches, viewpoints over the bay and a population of endangered red-shanked douc langurs. Free to enter; the loop road is narrow and steep, so an underpowered rental scooter is a bad idea.

Purpose-built early twentieth-century museum by the French École française d'Extrême-Orient at the Dragon Bridge end of Bạch Đằng, holding the largest collection of Cham stone sculpture anywhere, much of it lifted from Mỹ Sơn. An hour is enough, and doing it before Mỹ Sơn makes the ruins legible.
