The dragon's head breathes fire for about two minutes and then sprays water for three, starting at 9pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday plus major holidays. Free; stand on the riverside promenade on either bank and get there twenty minutes early for a clear line of sight.

Rooftop bar on floors 35 to 37 of the Novotel at 36-38 Bạch Đằng, open 18:00 to 02:00 with DJs from about 9pm. Highest bar in the city and priced to match; book on +84 901 151 536 at weekends.

The grid of small streets a block back from My Khe beach where most of the backpacker bars, live-music rooms and late food are. Walkable end to end in about fifteen minutes and the closest thing Da Nang has to a bar district.

The middle span of the Han River Bridge turns ninety degrees to let ships through between 11pm and midnight on Saturdays and Sundays, then swings back before the hour is out. Free, and the crowd gathers on the Bạch Đằng side.

Evening street-food and souvenir market on Mai Hắc Đế, just across the Dragon Bridge from the centre. Grilled seafood, skewers and cheap beer; nothing is priced on a board, so agree the number before anything goes on the grill.
