Banana Ball at Grayson Stadium — a rewritten rulebook, choreography and a two-hour clock. Home dates are few now the team tours, and tickets go by lottery.
Savannah Ghost Pirates
Minor league hockey October to April at the Enmarket Arena west of downtown, with tickets that run a fraction of NHL prices.
Autumn road races
The city marathon and half run in November on a flat course through the squares, and a bridge run follows in December. Both take casual entrants.
Golf on the coast
Public courses sit on Wilmington Island and the Landings, and the PGA Tour stops at Hilton Head, an hour north-east, each April.
