Baseball runs April to October and midweek upper-deck seats are the cheapest live sport in the city. Both grounds sit directly on a subway line.

Knicks basketball and Rangers hockey share it from October to April, above Penn Station. Tickets are dear; resale drops sharply in the last hours.

Late August into September at Flushing Meadows. Grounds passes for the first week are the value ticket, and qualifying week beforehand is free.

The five-borough marathon runs in early November and is free to watch anywhere on the route. The West 4th Street cage plays year-round.
