Slickrock and the Whole Enchilada
Moab's riding runs spring and autumn — Slickrock's petrified dunes for the classic, the Whole Enchilada for a shuttled descent off the La Sals. Summer is unrideable by noon.
Easter Jeep Safari
A week of organised four-wheel-drive runs on the ledges around town each spring. Lodging sells out months out and Main Street becomes a rolling car show.
Indian Creek climbing
An hour south, splitter sandstone cracks that reward one very specific skill. Season is roughly October to April; camping is at Creek Pasture and Superbowl.
Desert ultras and bike races
A 55-kilometre trail race in late winter, a mountain-bike festival in autumn, and a 240-mile ultra through the canyons — all timed to avoid the summer.
