The island's main performing-arts venue at One Cameron Way in Kahului, with several theatres and the Schaefer International Gallery. Programming mixes touring musicians and comedians with Hawaiian work such as the annual Ku Mai Ka Hula competition, so it is worth checking the calendar before booking anything else for that night.

Irish-owned bar and music room at 100 Kaukahi St above the Wailea golf course. Open 4pm to 8pm Thursday and 4pm to 9pm Sunday, with Friday and Saturday hours set by whatever is booked; there is a magic show at 6:30pm on Thursdays and the Island Soul Band from 5pm to 8pm on Sundays.

The production brewery, restaurant and tasting room at 605 Lipoa Parkway in Kihei, open daily 11am to 10pm, with brewery tours bookable through their site. There is a second, more resort-priced restaurant at Kaanapali if you are staying on that coast.

Long-running luau at 1251 Front Street in Lahaina, taking about three hours. Check-in shifts with the season — 5:15pm October to February, 5:45pm in March to May and September, 6:15pm June to August — and you choose between conventional tables and front-row traditional mat seating. Book online; kamaaina rates are phone-only on 808-667-1998.

Most Maui venues stop serving somewhere between 9pm and 10pm and the island has no late-night district. The August 2023 fire destroyed the Front Street bar strip in Lahaina and the town is still rebuilding, so if evenings matter to you, stay in Kihei, Wailea, Paia or Kahului rather than planning to drive to Lahaina for them.
