No teams, no stadium — the sport here happens on the water, and mostly with an engine or a rod.
Offshore powerboat racing
The world championship rounds run each November off the Truman Waterfront, with the course visible from shore and free viewing along the seawall.
Fishing tournaments
Tarpon in the backcountry from April to June, sailfish offshore through winter, and a tournament calendar most months. Shared half-day charters run roughly 150–250 USD.
Diving the reef
The only living barrier reef in the continental United States sits six miles out, along with the Vandenberg wreck. Two-tank trips run about 100–150 USD.
Road races on the bridges
A half marathon runs in January, and the Seven Mile Bridge Run up at Marathon takes place in April with an entry ballot and a shuttle back.
