Season runs roughly December to early April, 3,000 acres above the town, with night skiing and a habit of very heavy fog they call snow ghosts.

Whitefish hosts a marathon and half in early autumn, and a summer half marathon runs on the park's roads before they open to traffic.

Inside park boundaries no state fishing licence is required — just the park's own rules on species and limits. Outside, the three forks of the Flathead need a Montana licence.

Forty-plus miles of singletrack on the edge of town, rideable roughly May to October, and a Nordic network on the same ground once the snow lands.
