THINGS TO DO
The things worth doing in Bath, from the obvious landmarks to the ones locals actually rate.
Pulteney Bridge spanning the River Avon in Bath
Bath Skyline walk
A six-mile National Trust loop through woods and meadows on the ridge above the city, starting a short walk from the centre. Free, and the best view of Bath is from it.
Holburne Museum
Bath's first art museum, at the far end of Great Pulteney Street: British portraiture, Renaissance work and decorative arts, with a glass extension on the back.
Prior Park Landscape Garden
An eighteenth-century valley garden south of the city with a Palladian bridge across the lake. National Trust, and there is deliberately no visitor car park.
Green Park Station
A disused Victorian trainshed kept as a covered market hall, with food stalls and a Saturday farmers' market under the iron roof.
Sally Lunn's
One of the oldest houses in Bath, serving the large sweet bun it is named after, with a cellar kitchen museum underneath.
