Cappadocia Ultra-Trail
A trail-running weekend each October with distances from short courses to well past a hundred kilometres, threading the valleys and villages. Entries open in spring.
Ballooning as sport
Flights run year round when wind allows, thickest from April to June and September to November. Cancellations are common and refunds are standard.
Hiking the valleys
Pigeon, Rose and Red valleys link into free half-day walks between villages; Ihlara Gorge, an hour south, follows a river under cliffs.
Football in Kayseri
The nearest top-flight club plays an hour east in Kayseri, where the Süper Lig season runs August to May at a modern arena.
