Theme park and open-air museum of Taiwan's Indigenous groups, reached directly by the ropeway. Has its own maintenance days.

Linked by a shaded forest path above the south shore. The lower temple has the classic framed view across the lake.

Paddleboard operators launch from Ita Thao at first light, when the lake is glassy and usually full of mist.

The main village strip: tea shops, mushroom snacks, bike hire and the pier. Where the buses arrive and the hotels cluster.

Taiwan's best-loved branch line, down the hill from the lake. Its last storm-damaged section reopened in June 2026.
