FIESTA SIDE
Interlaken's night is a resort town's night: two big hostel bars running on the adrenaline-sport crowd, a couple of pubs on the streets between the two stations, and a funicular and a hotel tower for anyone who would rather drink with a view than in a basement.

Balmers Herberge
Switzerland's oldest privately owned hostel, a group of wooden chalets around a courtyard in Matten just south of Interlaken West, with several bars — one outdoors in the courtyard, one inside, and an underground one with a ping-pong table and karaoke. There is also a games room with a pool table and darts.
Brasserie 17
Restaurant and bar at Rosenstrasse 17, open 08:30–00:30 Monday to Saturday and 16:30–00:30 on Sunday, which makes it one of the few places in town still serving near midnight. Live music and screened sport in winter, covered terrace in summer.
Funny Farm
Hostel at the Mattenhof Resort in Matten with a lobby bar, an outdoor bar and a basement club called Club Caverne. Together with Balmers it is where Interlaken's late drinking actually happens; hours are not published on the site, so ask at reception on the day.
The 18th-floor restaurant, Hotel Metropole
The Metropole tower at Höheweg 37 has its restaurant on the 18th floor, looking over the whole of Interlaken to the Jungfrau and both lakes. It is the one place in town where an evening drink comes with that view rather than a courtyard; book on +41 33 828 66 66.
Harder Kulm in the evening
Jungfrau Railways' funicular leaves from a short walk from Interlaken Ost and climbs to 1,322 m in about 10 minutes, from CHF 22 return, with alphorn concerts daily from 18:30 and a restaurant and viewing platform at the top. Check the last descent of the day before you commit to a second drink.
