The main street's hotel bars are essentially the whole of Grindelwald's evening. Comfortable, expensive, and closing earlier than you will expect.

A small, long-established bar in the village centre that keeps going after the hotel bars have given up for the night.

In season the mountain restaurants at Bort and Kleine Scheidegg run from mid-afternoon and empty down into the village by about seven.

Check the final descent time before you settle in anywhere on the mountain. Missing it means a long walk in the dark or an expensive bed you had not planned on.

Between December and April the larger hotels run DJ nights and live bands. For the rest of the year the village is quiet by ten and unapologetic about it.
