The cheapest beds, kebab counters and late bars sit around Möllevångstorget, ten minutes from Triangeln station and its direct trains to Copenhagen airport.

Bikes over buses
Malmö is flat with segregated lanes almost everywhere; a rental bike for a day undercuts a Skånetrafiken pass and gets you to the beach faster.
Free by day
Ribersborg's two-kilometre beach and pier, Folkets Park with its free playgrounds and mini-zoo, and the Western Harbour promenade under the Turning Torso.

A public park with beer gardens, a dance hall and free events through summer; the bars around Möllevångstorget take over once it gets dark.
