Järntorgsgatan 12–14, a live venue since 1998: two floors, three stages and over 200 events a year across rock, metal, hip hop and pop, with club nights after the concerts. Open Wed–Thu 17:00–23:00 and Fri–Sat 17:00–03:00, later on concert nights.

The city's jazz club, now also a vinyl listening bar and a late club, with a programme that runs well past jazz into soul, funk, afrobeat and hip hop. Tickets go through Tickster and the popular nights sell out in advance.

Nya Allén 11, a large multi-room venue that does concerts and comedy early and turns into a nightclub from 23:00 to 03:00. Most nights are 18-plus, though some listings are all-ages, so check the individual event.

Kronhusgatan 2B, about thirty taps and a couple of hundred bottles alongside rustic Swedish cooking, plus public beer tastings. Mon–Thu 15:00–23:00, Fri 11:00–00:30, Sat 13:00–24:00, closed Sunday.

Two branches — Magasinsgatan 3 in the centre and Tredje Långgatan 8 in the Långgatorna bar strip — doing craft beer and sourdough pizza, with walk-ins welcome and tables bookable online. Cashless, so bring a card.
