Scandinavia's biggest funfair, a rainforest under glass and car-free islands half an hour offshore.
Liseberg amusement park
A large amusement park open roughly late April to October, then again for the Christmas market. Headline coasters need 130 cm; smaller children have their own quarter.
Universeum science centre
Seven floors including a walk-through rainforest with monkeys and a shark tank. Warm, humid and genuinely absorbing for four to twelve.
Southern archipelago ferries
Boats from Saltholmen to Styrsö and Brännö run on ordinary transit tickets. The islands ban cars, so children can roam between swimming rocks.
Plikta playground
A large, imaginative free playground inside Slottsskogen with water play in summer, next to the free animal enclosures. Toddlers to about ten.
Doing Liseberg well
Go on a weekday, arrive at opening, and check ride height limits before building expectations. Trams 2, 4 and 5 all stop at Korsvägen.
