Alpine World Cup racing
Åre has staged World Championships and hosts World Cup races most seasons, usually in March. The alpine season itself runs December to early May.
Åre Bike Festival
Downhill and enduro racing with a festival attached each July, using the bike park's steep lower trails. Free to watch from the woods.
Åre Extreme Challenge
A late-summer multisport race combining running, cycling and paddling around the mountain, with a shorter recreational class alongside the elite field.
Vålådalen cross-country
Free-to-use trail networks for cross-country skiing in winter and hiking in summer, half an hour south, with a station serving hot food.
