WITH KIDS
A science museum, an oceanarium and a park where the river used to run — Valencia is built for children.
City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia
Oceanogràfic aquarium
Beluga whales, a walk-through shark tunnel and a dolphin pool in the City of Arts complex. Allow four hours; suits any age.
Museu de les Ciències
Hands-on science across three floors — pendulums, a DNA gallery, static electricity demonstrations — where touching things is the point. Ages 5+.
Parque Gulliver
A giant reclining Gulliver in the Turia gardens, built as slides and ropes over his body. Free, shaded in parts, and best for ages 3–10.
Playa de la Malvarrosa
Wide flat sand fifteen minutes away by tram, lifeguarded in summer, backed by a promenade of paella restaurants that seat children without fuss.
Bikes beat buggies
The Turia's nine kilometres are flat and traffic-free, and family bikes with child seats hire by the day. Paella is a 2pm meal here, not an evening one.
