Winter cycling season
From January to April the island fills with professional and amateur teams; Sa Calobra and the Puig Major are the climbs, and hire bikes are everywhere.
Copa del Rey sailing
The big keelboat regatta races in the Bay of Palma in high summer and is free to watch from the seafront or the Portitxol breakwater.
Hiking the Tramuntana
The GR221 dry-stone route crosses the range in stages, best from October to May. Refuges must be booked, and the summer heat makes it unpleasant.
