Atlético play at the Metropolitano in the east; Rayo Vallecano play in Vallecas for a fraction of the price and twice the noise. Same August-to-May season.
Mutua Madrid Open
The combined ATP and WTA tournament fills the Caja Mágica across late April and early May. Ground passes early in the week are the affordable way in.
Madrid Marathon
Run in April, and hillier than most city marathons — the Casa de Campo section hurts. The Retiro and Casa de Campo are where the city trains year-round.
