The north and east coves are shallow and calm — Ibiza works far better with children than its reputation suggests.
Cala Bassa
A wide, sheltered bay of white sand and shallow water, reached by boat from Sant Antoni in twenty minutes. Suits any age.
Aguamar water park
Small, old-fashioned water park at Playa d'en Bossa with graded slides and a toddler pool; open through the summer season only. Ages 4+.
Ses Salines salt flats
Flat cycling and walking tracks between the working salt pans, with flamingos on passage in autumn and a beach at the end. Ages 5+.
Ferry to Formentera
Half an hour from Ibiza Town to shallow, wadeable water at Ses Illetes; hire bikes at the port rather than a car. Ages 4+.
Eat early, nap late
Restaurant kitchens open around 8.30pm, but beach chiringuitos serve all afternoon and keep high chairs. Plan a siesta and a late bedtime.
