A large hands-on science park with a planetarium, a butterfly house and a birds-of-prey display. Half a day; ages 4+.
Sierra Nevada
Forty minutes by bus to ski in winter or walk alpine meadows in summer. Pradollano has beginner slopes and a toboggan area. Ages 4+.
Sacromonte cave museum
Whitewashed cave dwellings cut into the hillside, furnished as they were lived in, with a flamenco history room. Short, shaded, ages 6+.
Hills and cobbles
The Albaicín is stairs and cobbles — carriers beat buggies by a distance. Free tapas mean children eat early and cheaply; ask for a plate to share.
