Aulay's Bar
Two room harbour pub on Airds Crescent, hung with ship photographs and heavy on malts. Locals in one bar, visitors in the other.
Markie Dans
Basement bar on the Corran Esplanade, open to 1am and to 2am at weekends, with live music, quizzes and a long Argyll malt list.
The Oban Inn
Harbourside pub trading since 1790, with stained glass upstairs and a solid whisky selection. Live music turns up without much warning.
The View
Bar and music venue at 34 George Street running gigs, club nights and two hour ceilidh sessions where the dances get explained first.
The Lorne Bar
Stevenson Street pub with a free quiz at 9pm on Wednesday, a long malt list and a lot of Scottish gin. Open to midnight at weekends.
