Culebra has one town, no resorts and a beach that makes the ferry queue worth it.
Sleep in Dewey
The only settlement holds guesthouses, a handful of bunk rooms and the cheapest option of all — camping on Flamenco Beach with a permit.
What a day costs
Camping about $20 a head, a guesthouse bed $70–120, food $30–50 because almost everything is shipped in. Reckon $55–140 a day.
Getting around cheap
The passenger ferry from Ceiba is a few dollars but sells out — book online days ahead. On the island, shared públicos meet every boat.
Free by day
Flamenco Beach and the two rusting tanks half-buried in its sand, the seagrass snorkelling at Tamarindo, and the windward sand at Zoni.
Dewey waterfront
The bars and taco windows around the dinghy dock and the drawbridge are where cruising sailors, divers and day-trippers end up after sunset.
