The things worth doing in Kraków, from the obvious landmarks to the ones locals actually rate.
Rynek Underground
Excavated stalls, roads and graves four metres below the square, told with holograms. 45zl, free on Tuesdays, closed 2nd Monday.
MOCAK contemporary art
Next door to Schindler's Factory on Lipowa 4. Sharp Polish and international shows, Tuesday to Sunday 11:00-19:00, rarely crowded.
Zakrzówek
A flooded limestone quarry turned swimming spot, turquoise water under white cliffs, 20 minutes out. Lifeguarded pools in summer.
Kościuszko Mound
An earth mound raised in 1823 with a rampart walk around the top and the best panorama of the city. Bus, or a 40-minute uphill walk.
Nowa Huta
Tram east to the model steel town Stalin gave Kraków: vast planned squares, socialist-realist blocks and very cheap milk bars.
