Lechia Gdańsk were relegated and play 2026-27 in the second-tier Betclic 1 Liga, and Arka Gdynia are in the same division, so there is no top-flight football anywhere in the Tricity this season. The nearest Ekstraklasa club is Lech Poznań, roughly 300 km south and about three hours by train. The upside is that a derby ticket is cheap and easy to get.

The 41,620-seat stadium at ul. Pokoleń Lechii Gdańsk 1, out west of the centre and reached by tram, with 1,383 VIP seats and around 100 events a year. Tickets through bilety.lechia.pl or the club app. The complex also holds a Lechia museum and shop and the FUN ARENA centre — escape rooms, trampolines, go-karts — which is useful if the fixture list does not line up with your trip.

The best top-tier sport in the city. The arena at plac Dwóch Miast 1 sits exactly on the Gdańsk–Sopot boundary and reconfigures for between 5,100 and 15,000 people. Ordinary league matches run from 5 zł in the cheapest sector to 55 zł up front, more for the big fixtures; the club box office opens two hours before each game.

International show jumping on the grass at ul. Polna 1 in Sopot, on a racecourse that has been in use since the 1890s. The 2026 edition ran at four-star level in June; entry is ticketed and it is a full weekend of jumping rather than a single class. Twenty minutes from Gdańsk on the SKM.

The city's big road race, run on 27 September 2026 over the standard 21.1 km, with relay teams alongside the individual event. The Saturday before carries a 'Nocna Piątka' night 5 km and children's races, so families can enter something too. Organised by Labosport and AZS; entries through the race site.
