WITH KIDS
A lagoon with paddleboards, tidal rock pools, and a reef coast that is not for swimming.
Aerial view of Siargao's coast and boats
Sugba Lagoon
Jade-green water in the Del Carmen mangroves with paddleboards, a diving platform and a boardwalk. Boat from Del Carmen port. Ages 6+.
Three-island hopping trip
Naked, Daku and Guyam โ€” a sandbar, a swimming beach with lunch huts, and a palm islet you can walk round. Ages 4+.
Magpupungko rock pools
Wide tidal pools in a limestone shelf at Pilar, swimmable only for a few hours around low tide. Check the tide chart. Ages 4+.
Jacking Horse
The gentle beginner reef break beside Cloud 9, surfed at mid to high tide with instructors and soft boards. Reef booties advised. Ages 8+.
Reef, roads and power cuts
Cloud 9 is not a swimming beach โ€” the sand is on the offshore islands. Scooters with children are a bad idea. Power cuts are routine and typhoon risk peaks in December.
