THINGS TO DO
The island is about 7 km long and its three main beaches do different jobs — White Beach for swimming and sunset, Bulabog on the windward side for kite and wind sports, Puka in the north for quiet — with the best day out actually off-island.
Boat off White Beach, Boracay
Ariel's Point
Day trip by outrigger to a cliff-jumping spot on the Buruanga mainland: registration from 11:00 at Casa Mezcaleria opposite Club Paraw in Station 1, boats out at 11:30, back to Boracay around sunset. Platforms at 5, 8 and 15 m, with lunch buffet, drinks, kayaks and snorkel gear included.
Kitesurfing at Bulabog Beach
Bulabog's lagoon on the windward side is reserved for kite and windsurfers, and the season runs from roughly the end of October to the end of April with average winds of 18–20 knots. Isla Kitesurfing on the lagoon teaches beginners through freestyle with IKO-trained instructors.
Puka Shell Beach
Coarse shell-sand beach at the northern end of the island at Yapak, with a handful of stalls and none of the White Beach crowd. A tricycle or e-trike from Station 1 gets you there in well under half an hour.
Mount Luho viewpoint
The island's high point, reached by road from the eastern side, with a small paid viewing deck looking down over Bulabog and the island's green interior. Twenty minutes is enough once you are up there.
Paraw sailing at sunset
The traditional double-outrigger sailboats work off White Beach and are hired by the hour on the sand, usually for the hour before sunset. They have no engine, so how far you get depends entirely on the wind that evening.
