Parque de las Leyendas
A large zoo in San Miguel arranged by Peru's three regions, with Andean and Amazon sections and archaeological remains on site. Ages 3+.
Huaca Pucllana
An adobe pyramid rising out of Miraflores, visited on a short guided walk; evening tours are lit and cooler. Ages 6+.
Playa Agua Dulce
The one sheltered, swimmable beach on this coast, in Chorrillos, with lifeguards in summer. The water is cold in any month. Ages 5+.
Garúa, cold sea, late dinners
Fog sits over Lima from May to November and the sun barely appears. Restaurants serve late; the malls and Larcomar are the reliable source of high chairs.
