A short, bright natural-history museum on the causeway explaining how the isthmus rose and split an ocean. An hour is enough. Ages 6+.
Punta Culebra Nature Center
Touch pools, a small dry-forest trail with sloths and a view of ships queueing for the canal. Ages 3+.
Gamboa and Monkey Island
Boat trips on Gatún Lake to islands where capuchins come to the boat, plus the Pipeline Road for birds. Half a day. Ages 5+.
Heat, metro and cobbles
The metro is cold, cheap and stroller-friendly; Casco Viejo's cobbles are not. Rain arrives most afternoons May to November — plan mornings outdoors.
