Where Salalah goes after dark — bars, live music and the late ones worth staying up for.
Al Haffa Souq at night
In khareef the frankincense market runs to about 10pm and is the busiest place in the city after dark. Bargaining is expected.
Hotel bars
Licensed drinking sits inside the resorts, chiefly Al Baleed Resort by Anantara and the Hawana marina properties. There is no bar scene outside them.
Ittin during khareef
The Salalah Tourism Festival site, mid-July to late August: funfair, food stalls, handicraft market and nightly performances, at their busiest after dark.
The corniche after sunset
Families take over the seafront once the drizzle eases and the temperature sits around 22C. Cafes and karak rather than bars.
Coconut and fruit stalls
The road out towards Mughsail is lined with stalls selling green coconuts, bananas and papaya, many of them open late. A few hundred baisa each.
