Both mountain resorts serve a set buffet, included for guests and usually around 7-9pm. Ring ahead if you are camping and want to eat indoors.

Campfire on the rim
Bring wood up with you; there is none to collect. At 3-5C it is the only heat and, effectively, the only entertainment.
Moonrise over Wadi Ghul
The canyon fills with shadow and then silver. Check the moon phase before you come, because you get either that or the Milky Way, not both.
Nothing here is licensed
No alcohol is sold on the mountain, and Oman's licensing is confined to hotels in the larger towns. Bring a flask of tea and plan an early night.
