About NPR 200 a day, and by far the best way round a park that runs 5km end to end. Flat the whole way.

Manuscripts, coins and Buddhist artefacts at the north end of the park, near the Peace Pagoda.

The Korean monastery and others take guests for a donation. Simple rooms, early bells, no alcohol.

The wetland strip along the central canal is a birding spot - sarus cranes are the draw at dawn.

A full monastery circuit runs around NPR 1,000 for six hours; a shorter inner loop is NPR 500-800.
