Kite school and rental centre on Velika Plaza running two-hour tasters at EUR 100-140, eight-to-twelve-hour beginner courses at EUR 420-480 and private lessons at EUR 75, with gear rental from EUR 10-70 a day. Their wind season runs from the start of May to the end of September.

Ulcinj's football club, founded in 1921 as Olcinium and the first in the town, plays in the Montenegrin Second League at the 1,500-seat Stadion Olympic behind Velika Plaza. There is no top-flight football here — the First League clubs are in Podgorica, about 90 minutes inland.

The thermal builds through the afternoon and is most reliable from May to mid-September, which is why the schools teach from late morning to sunset. Outside those months the wind is unreliable and the beach infrastructure is packed away.

Velika Plaza gives you thirteen kilometres of flat, firm sand in a single line — the longest uninterrupted run on the Montenegrin coast. Do it at first light, before the sand heats up and the beach clubs put out their loungers.

The road from town out to Ada Bojana is about ten kilometres and almost entirely flat, which makes it a rarity in a country that is otherwise all climbing. It is the one ride here you can do on a rented town bike rather than a road bike.
