No club of its own, but cave diving, kitesurfing and Cozumel's endurance calendar all sit within reach.
Cancún FC, second tier
The nearest professional football is ninety minutes north at the Estadio Andrés Quintana Roo. Mexican seasons split in two: Apertura July–December, Clausura January–May.
Ironman Cozumel, November
The island across the water hosts a full-distance triathlon in November, with a fast current-assisted swim. Ferries from Playa del Carmen fill that weekend.
Cenote and cave diving
The Sac Actun and Dos Ojos systems are the reason technical divers move here; open-water cavern tours need no cave qualification.
Kite season, winter nortes
North winds from November to March turn the beach north of the ruins into a kitesurfing strip, with schools renting gear by the hour.
