Tigres de Quintana Roo
The Mexican League baseball side plays downtown at the Estadio Beto Ávila; the season runs April to August, tickets are cheap and the crowd is local.
Cancún FC
Second-division football at the Estadio Andrés Quintana Roo, in the Apertura July–December and Clausura January–May halves. Walk-up tickets are usually fine.
Cancún marathon
A road marathon and half take over the hotel-zone boulevard in early winter, starting before dawn to beat the heat. Entries open months ahead.
MUSA and reef diving
The submerged sculpture park sits in shallow water off Punta Nizuc, snorkellable as well as divable; certification courses here are among the cheaper ones.
