LIMA airshow
The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition brings flying displays and warships to the island every second year, in odd-numbered years around May.
Island triathlon
Long-course triathlon has raced Langkawi's ring road and Cenang beach late in the year; the bike leg crosses the island's hills twice.
Kampung football and takraw
Village pitches and takraw courts near Kuah fill in the cooler hour before dusk; the state's professional club plays on the mainland in Kedah.
