FIESTA SIDE
Kuala Lumpur's night is stratified — plastic stools and big bottles of beer on Jalan Alor, a purpose-built club compound on Jalan Tun Razak, and some of Asia's best cocktail bars behind unmarked shophouse doors.
Petronas Towers over the KL skyline
Changkat Bukit Bintang
The main bar street: a few hundred metres of pubs, tapas bars and clubs running uphill off Jalan Bukit Bintang. Loud, touristed and priced for it, but it is where most visitors start and where a car is easiest to find at 2am.
Jalan Alor
The open-air night food street one block down from Changkat — satay, grilled seafood, char kway teow and beer at pavement tables from early evening until the small hours. The cheapest night out in KL and reliably the best value.
PS150
A cocktail bar hidden behind an old shopfront on Petaling Street in Chinatown, running back through a series of rooms to a tiki-styled bar at the rear. Reserve through the site at weekends; it is small and fills early.
Bar Trigona
The bar at the Four Seasons on Jalan Ampang, open daily 17:00–01:00, building drinks around Malaysian ingredients including trigona stingless-bee honey. Ranked 38th on Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2026, and priced accordingly.
TREC KL
A purpose-built entertainment block at 438 Jalan Tun Razak with clubs, live-music rooms and restaurants in one compound, open daily 8am to 5am. There is no charge to enter TREC itself, though individual clubs run their own door on busy nights.
