The Pepsi-sponsored top flight, run by the Lao Football Federation, with most clubs based in or around the capital. Tickets are cheap and bought at the gate; check the federation's competition page for the current round and venue.

The 20,000-capacity ground that hosted Lao League football from 2008 has been shut for renovation since 2025. Do not turn up expecting a match; matches have moved to other Vientiane grounds.

The 25,000-seat stadium at the national sports complex about 17km out on Route 13 North, built for the 2009 SEA Games and still the country's biggest venue for internationals and national games ceremonies.

Both are run by Events for Good Laos: the full marathon in December, the half in early March. Flat, hot and largely along the riverfront and boulevards; entries open on the organiser's site months ahead.

The most visible French leftover after the baguette. Sand courts sit beside temples, workshops and roadside shops all over the city and fill up in the late afternoon; Laos takes the sport seriously enough to run national selection tournaments.
