Karura Forest

A thousand hectares of urban forest with waterfalls, caves and marked walking and cycling trails. Gated and safe.

Kazuri Beads workshop

A women's ceramic bead cooperative in Karen. Tour the workshop and watch the hand-painting before the shop.

Nairobi Railway Museum

Colonial-era locomotives, including the carriage tied to the Tsavo man-eating lions. Dusty, cheap and genuinely odd.

Maasai Market

A roving craft market that changes location by day of the week. Bargain hard; opening prices run several times over.
