No settlement for miles and almost no cloud. Camps will kill the lights if you ask; bring a coat, because it cools fast after sunset.

Tea, sometimes drumming, sometimes just conversation with whoever else turned up. This is the whole of the nightlife and it is better than it sounds.

Camps do not sell it. Some will let you bring your own; ask when you book rather than arriving with a bag of duty-free.

Several camps will put a mattress out on the sand away from the tents, or in a cave for a small supplement. Colder, and much better.

Camps run on solar, dinner is at sunset and the lights go off early. Most people are asleep by ten and awake for the sunrise.
