Where Dead Sea goes after dark — bars, live music and the late ones worth staying up for.
Sunset over the West Bank
The far shore is the West Bank, close enough to pick out buildings on a clear evening. The light goes quickly once it drops behind the hills.
Resort bars
Every large hotel here is licensed and that is where the drinking happens, at resort prices. There is no alternative further down the road.
Public beaches close at dusk
The Dead Sea Tourist Beach shuts in the evening and is not somewhere to linger after dark. After that the lit options are all hotels.
Stars over the rift
Very little light in either direction once the resorts are behind you, and warm enough to sit out in for most of the year.
Or drive back up
Amman is an hour away and plenty of people treat the Dead Sea as a day trip. If you do, leave before it is fully dark.
