EAT LIKE A LOCAL
The shore has no independent restaurants at all — you eat where you have paid to swim, or you drive up onto the plateau.
Whichever gate you paid to enter
Along the Sweimeh strip, food means the buffet at your hotel or beach club. Nothing opens onto the shore road, so treat meals as part of the entry cost rather than a separate decision.

Panorama Dead Sea Complex
On the cliff above the shore road: a restaurant with a terrace over the rift, plus a small museum in the same building open 9am to 5pm. The only place to eat here that is not a hotel.

Haret Jdoudna, Madaba
Mezze and grills in a restored old stone house in central Madaba, half an hour up from the shore. It is the reason a lot of Dead Sea day-trippers detour through the town on the way back to Amman.

Mansaf, and eating it properly
Jordan's national dish: lamb cooked in jameed, a dried fermented yoghurt, served over rice and traditionally eaten communally with the right hand. Madaba's restaurants are where you will be offered it near here.
