THINGS TO DO
The things worth doing in Aqaba, from the obvious landmarks to the ones locals actually rate.
Aqaba waterfront and mosque with red mountains behind
Aqaba Bird Observatory
An RSCN site on the migration corridor between Asia and Africa, with 271 species recorded, over 61% of everything logged in Jordan. Best in spring, autumn and winter.

Ayla, the early Islamic town
The walled town's excavated foundations sit between the hotels on the north shore, open and unfenced, and easy to walk straight past.
The Courts and the wake park
Ten courts for tennis, padel, basketball and football at Ayla, open 8am to midnight, plus cable wakeboarding at B12 from 10am to sunset, minimum age 12.
