Seven Mile Beach
A shallow, gently shelving bay with no real waves and warm water all year. Shade comes from sea grape trees or a hired umbrella. Any age.
Kool Runnings Adventure Park
Water slides, a lazy river and go-karts on Norman Manley Boulevard; opening days vary out of season, so ring ahead. Ages 4 and up.
Glass-bottom boat
Skippers work the beach selling half-hour reef trips; agree the price and the length first. Life jackets are provided. Ages 4 and up.
Mayfield Falls
An hour inland, a shallow river walk over limestone steps with guides who carry the smaller ones. Water shoes needed. Ages 6 and up.
The airport road is winding
It is about ninety minutes from Montego Bay on a twisting coast road — dose for motion sickness. Ask for jerk mild, and watch for sea urchins on rocks.
