A roped, lifeguarded stretch of clear water with a small entry fee, changing rooms and loungers. No waves to speak of. Any age.
Aquasol Theme Park
Walter Fletcher Beach with go-karts, a sheltered bay and shallow water inside the point. Modest entry fee. Ages 4 and up.
Rafting the Martha Brae
Thirty minutes east, a bamboo raft poled by a captain down a slow river for about an hour. Life jackets on request. Ages 4 and up.
Rose Hall Great House
A restored plantation house east of town with a much-embroidered ghost story; the evening candlelit tour is the one children remember. Ages 8 and up.
Watch the cruise days
Three ships in port turn the Hip Strip and the beaches solid by mid-morning. Go early or head east. Cook shops will make jerk mild on request.
