Amalfi, Pisa, Genoa and Venice race costumed galleys in rotation each early summer; Amalfi hosts every fourth year, with a procession beforehand.
Path of the Gods
The Sentiero degli Dei and the Valle delle Ferriere are walked year-round and raced occasionally. Spring and October are the sensible months; August is not.
Kayaking and diving
Kayak operators in Praiano paddle to sea caves and Li Galli, and dive centres work the Punta Campanella marine reserve towards Sorrento from May.
