Clare hurling at Ennis
The county's game, played with religious seriousness. Munster championship runs spring into early summer at Cusack Park, forty-five minutes inland.
Surfing at Lahinch
Beginner beach breaks and several surf schools fifteen minutes south, running year round with wetsuits. The reef under the cliffs is for experts only.
Lahinch Golf Club
A championship links laid through the dunes, with goats reputed to forecast the weather. Green fees climb steeply in summer; book far ahead.
Burren walking and running
Guided limestone walks run year round from Ballyvaughan, and a spring marathon and half loop the hills and green roads above the bay.
